the past couple of weeks, but we have been very busy.

This week's Torah Portion is named Ki Tetze. There are a few things I want to talk about in this portion that are interesting.
The 1st thing is in chapter 21:18-21:21. This meaning has been shown more and more to me the past couple of weeks. I have been realizing how serious it is, to not rebel against your parents, especially at the age that I am at. I find it increasingly harder and harder to not talk back and to not tell them that they are wrong, and I must admit that I have failed several times. But, I have realized that YHVH said this for the same reason He told the "adults" of Israel. He tells them, I love you, and I cherish you, and you are my children, but you must understand, if you don't obey,
I can't do anything else other than punish you.
This isn't in a hating or evil way He is saying this. He is showing that
He loves us BUT that He MUST correct us or else everyone else will be
punished as well for the sin. I am trying day-by-day to learn not to be
that one that dishonors his father and mother.
Let us be as YHVH wants us to be, trying to be
righteous as Yahshua was righteous.
The next thing that I found interesting was in chapter 23:21-23-23.
A vow to YHVH is very serious. YHVH doesn't take things likely when you don't keep your word to others, much less Him. If you tell Him that you will go where He wants you to to go, and then don't go, it is sin and you will be punished. It isn't like a regular person who when you borrow something from and don't give it back just gets upset and may not let you borrow it anymore. This is YHVH, El of Yisra'el, King and Savior of our lives!
We MUST be careful to what we say to anyone, but we must be
VERY careful to what we promise to YHVH!
The last thing that is interesting is in chapter 24:13-24:16. These verses are more than just a physical measurment, it is also a spiritual measurment. We need to be making sure everyday that we are truly looking at ourselves with YHVH's measure to see were we are according to Him and what we need to do day-by-day to get closer to Him. We can't just say that we are ok, or say that we are close enough, because YHVH won't allow that. He wants us to countinually seek Him, always. Not just on Shabbat, always. Everyday, 24/7/365. Let us all seek Him and let us become more like Messiah everyday. If we fall, and we will, repent, turn away, and go back to Him. Let us never leave His sight and let us never say that we are close enough to Him, because we are NEVER close enough.
Sorry I didn't write very much this week, been very busy. Prayerfully I will be able to do it better next week. Pray for peace in Israel, and pray that we will be ready for whatever happens in the next few weeks and months.
Shalom!
